The Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit convicts us of our need to come to God through Jesus to be forgiven of sins and make Him Lord, as God the Father draws us. (John 16:8) The Holy Spirit desires to fill us so we are equipped to live out our faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 13:52). The Holy Spirit seals your salvation in God's mighty Hand (Ephesians 4:30). He wants to become your teacher by guiding you into ALL truth and produce the character of God in you which is called the Fruits of the Spirit (Peace, Love, Joy, Self-Control, etc.). (John 16:13)
Once saved, spiritual warfare begins because you keep your nature to sin and receive a new nature to please God and just like athletic teams need to practice weekly, you need to be in a place where the bible is taught and other believers can encourage your new walk!
As you live with these sometimes conflicting natures, depend on God to help you have victory in all areas of weakness! His strength is strongest when we are at our weakest!
We are who we are closest to and Jesus applied this principle to His ministry. He came to save the world, but His inner circle was Peter, James, and John. We are to minister to all people, but be careful about who we let into our inner circle! We should love and help everyone, but be careful who we allow to mentor and mold us!
1 Corinthians 15:33
The Word of God is the Wisdom of God from Genesis to Revelation. The Word teaches about who God is personally, but also the principles of God which work on a daily basis in every area of our lives. The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are a great place to begin reading because they teach about the ministry and life of our Lord Jesus Christ. They are found in the New Testament as the Bible has the Old Testament and New Testament and are the first four books in the New Testament!
Prayer is simply communication with God. Prayer is telling God thank you for what He has done for us daily, thanking Him for being Lord over all our circumstances and making all our requests known to Him because He supplies all our needs.
Prayer is being REAL with God through a conversation which involves talking and listening!
Use your Talents & Gifts
Our goal at New Hope is every member and regular guest to "come and serve". We at a minimum would love to have each member and regular guest at our Sunday Morning Church Service which begins at 10:45 am and involved in at least one ministry that blesses our church and community.
We believe every member should bury their fears of getting involved and display your God-given talents and gifts! We have a get plugged in program to help with this as well as church office assistance with this Monday-Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm. Our Administrator, Rebecca Brooks would love to help you get involved!
